Legendary comedian and television personality of Pakistan Omar Sharif passed away. He was 66 years old. According to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Omar Sharif breathed his last in Germany, where he was undergoing treatment. He had a heart bypass surgery last year and since then his health was deteriorating including amnesia.
According to Dawn, on September 28, Omar Sharif was being taken to America by air ambulance but his health deteriorated on the way. In such a situation, he was undergoing treatment during his stay in Germany. Recently, he had sought help from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in getting a visa so that he can travel abroad for treatment.
According to a close friend of Omar Sharif, he also had a heart attack in the month of August. He also had bypass surgery twice. He was awarded the Tamga-e-Imtiaz for his contribution to the entertainment world as a comedian, actor, and producer.

Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Omar Sharif Sahab. He was indeed the uncrowned king of comedy and a legend of Pakistan. May Allah give them Jannatul Firdous, Amin. Please read Surah Fatiha for his soul.”
